OUR MISSION
The mission of Shaping Her Earth (SHE) is to equip emerging leaders with the confidence, skills, mentorship, and networks to thrive academically, professionally, personally, and in their communities.
Through leadership development, mentorship, public service, and access to opportunity, SHE creates supportive spaces where participants can discover their voices, expand their possibilities, and lead with confidence.
Our work focuses on expanding access and addressing the unique experiences and challenges facing young women of color in education and professional spaces.

OUR CORE
Shaping Her Earth is guided by three pillars:
SHE MENTORS – We provide mentorship that helps high school and college students achieve their personal, professional, financial, and philosophical goals.
SHE LEADS – On college campuses, we create safe spaces for leadership, community-building, and peer mentorship. Participants lead their peers, guide local high school students, and grow their confidence and leadership skills.
SHE CONNECTS – We link participants to professional women mentors, corporate partners, and internship opportunities, giving early exposure to careers, networks, and real-world experiences that position them in the national leadership pipeline.
Together, these pillars cultivate a national network of emerging leaders ready to rise, lead, and transform their communities.

OUR STORY
Shaping Her Earth was founded by Sheria Irving, an educator, advocate, and lifelong believer in the power of mentorship.
While working in the New York City Public School system, Sheria witnessed the barriers young women faced in education and personal growth, particularly those from underserved communities. She saw how often they lacked the guidance, support, networks, and opportunities needed to recognize their potential and thrive.
Having been shaped by the mentorship of strong women throughout her own life, Sheria understood the transformative power of having someone believe in you, open doors, and help you see what is possible. She founded SHE to create that same kind of support for the next generation.
SHE was born from a simple but powerful belief: when young women have access to mentorship, opportunity, community, and the tools to lead, they can shape not only their own futures, but the world around them.
Today, SHE remains deeply committed to addressing the unique experiences and challenges facing Black and Brown girls and young women, creating spaces where they can be seen, supported, connected, and equipped to lead.
